A 2-month summer community that helps Notion learners and creative entrepreneurs go from reticence to confidence through playful exploration and tons of coworking & coaching: become the architect of your own supportive systems.
If you want to get good at Notion without all the noise, YouTube tutorials will only get you so far because they’re definitely going to overcomplicate and over-engineer a system that likely isn’t helpful for you anyway.
If you want to get good at Notion without all the confusion, free or $$ templates aren’t going to help you actually learn the tool, they’re only going to show you someone else’s interpretation of how to set up a system.
If you want to get good at Notion without spending a month’s worth of rent then an expensive course isn’t going to cut it because you don’t want to feel guilty about only watching 10% of eleventy-stupid modules.
If you want to get good at Notion without most of the information going over your head then joining a group program of “Business Owners” is going to put you in a room full of people whose questions and challenges aren’t relatable enough for you to get anything out of it.
The best way to learn how to get good at Notion is to have fun and enjoy the learning process: take small bites and let your knowledge, skills and systems build over time in a way that is playful and meaningful.
i am reading this book Best Laid Plans all about planning at the yearly/quartlerly/monthly/weekly/daily time horizons and was like wow i wonder if there is a notion template that could do all of this for me
but since taking your classes i felt confident enough to just BUILD IT MYSELF
and i loved how it turned out!
so thank you :)
Each day, you watch a short video (less than 5 minutes) and open a new page in Notion to just have fun with a small thing - this delights you!
It’s such a manageable commitment that you don’t even notice you’re both learning and feeling more confident with the tool.
It’s not about building out a system or putting aside hours and hours of time to rearranging your entire Notion workspace - it’s about having fun because it’s summer and that’s what summer is for!
You collect these pages in a database called “Sandbox” or “Play Town” and watch them accumulate, each page representing the joy of learning. You’re proud of yourself!
I needed this so much more than I realized! I went in thinking that my Notion was probably too messy or complicated to make pretty in 90 minutes. But I trusted in Podge, went through the steps, and oh my goodness! This is going to make my Notion 100x more useful. I no-exaggeration feel like a better business owner lol. I wish I had done this months ago.
Monday through Friday for the whole summer (8 weeks), I will drop a mini video tutorial inviting you to try out something new in Notion.
That’s 40 small ways you can explore different aspects of Notion in a way that is fun and engaging. Each video will be less than 5 minutes long and will be a mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced difficulty levels.
Even if you don’t get to every video throughout the summer, you’ll have lifetime access to all of the mini-tutorials that you can revisit whenever you like, going at your own pace and leveraging them as tools for your growing Notion workspace.
Using Zoom’s breakout room function, we’ll combine coaching and co-working so you have designated time and space to work in Notion while getting personalized support.
Whether it’s a Notion project, something else you’re working on for the summer or watching the mini video tutorials and playing in Notion, these calls give you both designated time and me as a resource to support you.
Quiet Co-working: join the call and hop into the breakout room where you can quietly work on your Notion project (or anything else you’re working on over the summer) with other Notion learners.
Coaching: when you have a question, need help getting unstuck or want my feedback on something, come back to the main room and we’ll work together on whatever your challenge is or you can get my eyeballs and input on something you’re building or playing around with.
With Podia’s built-in community space, Notion Summer Camp will bring you and your fellow Notion learners together for mutual support and to cheer each other on.
Ask questions of your fellow Notion learners and receive the dynamic knowledge of others
Reinforce your own understanding by thoughtfully offering ideas and potential solutions
Showcase your work and be celebrated for your efforts
Engage in lively and supportive conversations around your Notion projects and experiments
I’ve been in Notion communities (great ones, no shade) that are packed with incredible people but most of them are using Notion for these highly technical use cases. I would go to office hours to learn and ask questions but would leave feeling more confused than ever.
And Notion is often touted as a productivity tool that will make you faster and better but I really see it differently. Notion is a tool that can unlock a path to understanding your needs through the process of experiment and play. This approach is especially important for mission driven entrepreneurs whose path to learning is more impactful as a creative endeavour.
I believe in a dynamic learning environment that weaves together community, self-paced guided instruction and live Q&A and I built Notion Summer Camp around that philosophy.
For me, the joy of teaching Notion to creative entrepreneurs is seeing the moments when things they didn’t understand finally click
I have helped scores of Notion learners use play and exploration to not only build their own systems but build confidence and unlock the support they were truly looking for from Notion - a tool they absolutely knew could help them have a stronger business.
Even if you only come to a handful of group coaching / co-working calls, you’ll still feel more competent with Notion’s different features.
Even if you only watch 10% of the mini video tutorials, you’ll know how to meaningfully use 4 new things in Notion.
Even if you’re only able to ask questions asynchronously in the community, you’ll still have demonstrated the kind of commitment necessary to level up your skill.
Being a newbie to Notion, I've felt overwhelmed and lost in understanding how to make the platform work and how to actually customize it for my needs. Podge does a fantastic job of walking us through her thought process, and why she is doing things the way she is. This was a super helpful course, and I'll be going back to watch it again to lock in some of the practices.
You will definitely note fall behind! I designed this summer session to be able to work around people’s travel and other obligations so you can drop in when you want. There’s no particular order of the 5-minute tutorials, they will be categorized and labeled by difficulty level so you can easily find resources that will be both helpful and accessible to you. I also priced it so that even if you only come to a handful of sessions, it’s still a good investment. And don’t forget, you’ll have lifetime access to all of the materials so you can revisit whenever you want.
It’s not that you can’t figure it out on your own but for most people, a dynamic learning environment is more beneficial overall. For example, learning with others, getting some personalized coaching and being exposed to multiple ways of talking about the same thing can all come together to weave the right kind of tapestry that will help you deepen your understanding.
I’m so confident in my teaching that I know I can help you learn how to use Notion. However, you have to commit to showing up and doing the work too.
I totally get that, it’s understandable that you may not want to have a spotlight on you. There really are no stupid questions and there’s a good chance that someone else has been dying to ask the same thing. That being said, the community space is where you can ask questions and get answers asynchronously without feeling so exposed.
As a seasoned Notion user, there will be some advanced material for you to sink your teeth into. Also, the drop in sessions where you can get 1:1 feedback and support on more complex use cases will really help you level up your Notion skills.
Thank you so much Podge! Finally joining this workshop made me wish I'd come to more of your offerings sooner! All the daunting fears were comforted by your groundedness. My Notion is already feeling much more human thanks to you, and I truly feel like I'm learning and interplaying with the space better already.
Summer is the time to, enjoy the weather, get together with loved ones and maybe even go on vacation.
But for many of us, our workload is a little lighter which means we can focus on getting a big project across the finish line or clean up all those little stragglers that have been gnawing at us since January.
And I know that many of those projects - big and small - live (or could live) in Notion.
So this is your official invitation to add Notion Summer Camp to this sunny season:
Instead of downloading more templates, hoping they would be a quick fix, come and learn the building blocks so you can create your own
Instead of trying to build a complicated system without any support, come to the live calls and we can figure it out together
Instead of hoping you’ll magically learn how to use Notion by osmosis, commit to coming to a handful of live calls and watching a handful of the mini video tutorials and see the transformation in real time
